Melinda is not so much an object as a state of mind, Melinda is not a person, but a mood, a bit distracted and light headed. Melinda is a chair to recreate that mood, to hold you in when the world is too much. There is melancholy to the shape of the chair, an anthropomorphic aspect to it.  A sad face forms when seen from the front, full of weighty, pondering thoughts or is it  just a good reading chair? While the form is soft and feminine, the back has a little more tension, the walnut structure rises up and the chair seat angles down.
