The "indestructible" wood table top contrast so nicely with the reflective nature of the polished stainless steel base, allowing this work horse to shine like a stallion. The walnut top has a oil rubbed hand finished, giving it a matt yet deep apearance, allowing a coaster free, trivet free living, same priniciple as a butcherblock but that much more beautiful. The base are marine grade polished stainless steal meticulously hand polished to a mirror finish, a complicated and laborious labour of love. Our base is not to be confused with chromed steal, which is cheap and highly environmentaly damging as the pieces are dipped in chromium, are chromium is very hard to dispose properly.
